2018 Expomax Trip to Taihua mountain
In the early morning of the 18th, Aug, 2018, two buses carrying all the Expomax staff set out, heading for Yixing City. It arrived Taihua mountain by 9:00 a.m.
All Expomax staff were divided into 6 groups, then each group chosen their leaders, group names and slogans. With group cloth on, we took a large group photo.
Around 9:30 a.m., followed by a guide, we began to climb the Taihua mountain on foot. First challenge was the endless steep steps.
Some people were fast and others are slower, the ranks were getting longer and longer.
After arrived at the third pavilion, most of us were too tired to go further. So we stopped and had a little break.
There were 8 pavilions along the road to the top of the mountain, most of us made it.
The gathering place of assembly was an old temple at the peak.
Before the temple, there was a Ginkgo tree which was said to be over 1,700 years old. The tree was covered with faded red ribbons which represented blessing and prayer.
We believed this was today’s goal. Yet, after lunch break, we set off again. A narrow path along the tea garden and a rattan hole, all this meant it is a tough road to go.
We encouraged and helped each other all the way.
It rained last night, the roads in the woods are wet and slippery. Many people stumbled and fell several times, we had to look for some sturdy dead branches as sticks.
Amazing scenery often showed before us when we climbing up the hill when hiking up and down along the the ridge.
The foremost ones out of the mountains after 5:00 p.m. with trembling legs.
Around 6:30 p.m., all the staff gathered together to have dinner in farmhouse. After dinner, a exciting bonfire party was hold before the farmhouse, people didn’t climb the mountain performed singing or dancing.
The team with all team members finished climbing won commemorative medal.
This was the first day of our trip.
The next day, part of us went for canoeing and the rest chose to make dark-red enameled pottery.
Handsome pottery teacher demonstrate the way to make one in advance and guide us when we making our own pottery.
Here were our works, were they wonderful?
Here were the 8 best of all.
Canoeing was very fun, even the sun was shining fiercely.
After 5:00 p.m., we headed for home.
It was a very tired and encouraging and full of fun trip.
